The JCHS Art Department would like to congratulate senior Kaylana Davidson for receiving several honors at the 2023 Scholastic Art Awards. Kaylana submitted an editorial cartoon for which she received a Silver Key Award. She was also given an honorable mention for her portfolio of six works. According to art teacher Eric Adolf, Kaylana has a unique point of view and way of handling media and her effort and dedication to her art is evident.
Kaylana and other area honorees will be celebrated at the Annual Awards Ceremony on Sunday, February 5 at noon at the Clemens Center in Elmira. This special event honors students, teachers and schools and gives the scholastic adjudicators the opportunity to publicly recognize the young artists of our region. American Visions Best-In-Show honors will be announced during the event, as well as the Elmira Regional Art Society Award.
Kaylana’s work will be on display in the Arnot Art Museum’s East Gallery through March 10.
