On January 11, BT-BOCES New Visions Business Academy students gave a presentation of their Junior Achievement company called VenturePrize at the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator in front of a packed conference room.
Johnson City seniors Joseph Augostini and Ayden Berchtold were among 14 students from across the region who started a company this school year and sold two products, both with our community as a focus. One was a puzzle of pictures from around Broome County, while the other was an eight-pack of note cards featuring pictures from around downtown Binghamton.
The students generated a net income of $5,917.42 in just under three months. At the presentation, they announced donations totaling $4,500 to local charities.
The New Visions Business Academy focuses on the areas of finance, business management, marketing and human resources. In their placements, students work with local business and industry partners, gaining valuable first-hand experience.
Well done, Joseph, Ayden and the whole team!
