Christine Marion from the Broome County Health Department and Corinne Cornelius from the Broome County Office of Emergency Services visited Mrs. Carpenter’s Street Law classes in the high school this week to discuss driver safety. They spoke about the various factors that can inhibit good driving, such as drug and alcohol use, cell phone distraction and drowsiness. The class took part in challenges using special goggles that simulated the varying degrees of being under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. Activities included trying to walk a straight line, catch a ball and multitask.
